The three companies “Spangemacher Verlag” (Spangemacher Publishing), “Augenspiegel Verlag” (Augenspiegel Publishing) and “MediaWelt Produktions- und Agentur GmbH” (MediaWelt Production and Services) are organised under the umbrella of the “Verlagsgruppe Ratingen” (Publishing Group Ratingen). True to the philosophy of company founder Jörg Spangemacher, “Progressive – Professional – High Quality”, the highly motivated team works with dedicated professionalism on the cultivation and expansion of their particular fields of competence.

MediaWelt’s competence lies in the production of national as well as international printed products. They mainly focus on reference works such as product and company catalogues like “OphthalmoIndex” for German Eye Specialists, “OptoIndex for German Opticians” and “OptoIndex for Photonics”. Also the international business magazine, “MAFO – Ophthalmic Labs and Industry” with its associated annual conference in Milan “MAFO - The Conference”, has been published successfully by MediaWelt since 2004. Wide knowledge and experience of the industry provides a firm foundation for the PR consultancy service which MediaWelt has offered since 2003, e.g. to companies such as Carl Zeiss. They also provide production and service support in connection with printed products.

The activities of “Spangemacher Verlag” are centred on the successful professional publication, “Focus” the Magazine for the Successful Optician, published since 1981, as well as on the related internet edition, Focus NetNews, which is updated daily. Augenspiegel Verlag has published the successful monthly magazine, “Der Augenspiegel – Zeitschrift für Klinik und Praxis” (Der Augenspiegel - Journal for Clinics & Practices), since 1955.
